Poker Site For Gay And Lesbian Community Launched
The very first online poker site aimed to serve the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender (GLBT) community ComeOutPoker.com launched its real online poker room Sept. 14.
"ComeOutPoker is proud to be the first online poker site to provide the GLBT Community a real poker room," said ComeOutPoker.com spokesman Marc Willis. "Poker has long been a way for people to come together in a community-like atmosphere to meet, play, and have fun. The GLBT community is long overdue to enjoy the same excitement and fellowship that has been readily available to the straight community for years."
Survey reports show that there is close to 3.6 million gay poker players in the U.S. alone. While some poker sites may lay claim to catering to some gay members, ComeOutPoker aims to serve the GLBT exclusively.
ComeOutPoker also gives its site a fun twist by enabling its members to create a profile and upload a photo. While playing poker, members can also chat real-time for as long as they are logged in.
The site also introduces its very own variation of poker, known as ComeOut Hold'em. The game has a humorous twist, as all rules of Texas Hold'em apply, but all straights are eliminated from the ranking of the hands.
