Welcome Poker
Poker has become one of the world's most popular games, surpassing many games that were thought to be at the top for good. Poker is now played by people of all ages and walks of life. While this may seem as a part of life, it was not always like this. Up until not long ago, there were relatively few poker players in the United States, and it was only middle aged men who played their weekly poker games around the kitchen table. Them, and of course the casino players. Those however, were few as well. However, over the past few years there has been a surge of people that have discovered the great game of poker and have been learning how to play it.
However, the question must be asked, why is it that people prefer to play this game and not another? What is it about this game and no other that makes it so special? This question is not an easy one to answer, since so many people play p0oker for so many different reasons. There are people who play it for the thrill of the chase, and there are others who play it for the money only. On the other hand, there are those that may play it for a few drinks and laughs with friends, and to them it is no more than a pastime.
